BIAL is almost a week old, the new airport situated 40kms from city center, the new facility continues to be controversial over facilities, infrastructure and distance etc. Here are few snaps of this majestic airport the city was craving for over a decade. BMTC has provided an absolutely fantastic connectivity via fleets of buses mostly Vajra Volvos that make the experience comfortable.

The garden city being lately tagged as IP (Intellectual property) city that houses many white collar jobs / roles under IT / ITES industries. The need drives the demand to sell tie’s off the street too.. Here is a roadside stall displaying range and variety to go along…. Which one would you choose?
Namma metro i.e. ‘Our Metro’ project is seen progressing, the civil work on base pillar foundations seems to have completed. Most of the roads which will accommodate metro route are now divided with green grade separators segregating civil work from commuters. 
It is largely believed that neem leaves are natural pesticides and are holy considering their use in many rituals, religious ceremonies and are used for preparing many different medical preparations of traditional Indian medicine. Neem has lot of anti-desertification properties and possibly works as a good carbon dioxide sink.
Famous brigade roads keeps bringing lot of tourists thus brings lot of sellers to fulfill all kind of things that sell. A seller trying a quick sell of peacock feather fan at the junction of brigade road and MG road…
HAL airport amidst lot of controversies is put to rest for commercial flights since May 24th, i.e. today as the city get a new swanky airport at the outskirts. HAL airport was old and busy and was well inside the city limits perhaps thus limiting its expansion and was shared between military and civilian operations. 
To make things easier, many buses going out of the city take a small halt at last junctions on the peripheral/exterior city roads before leaving city, the amount of travelers at any time of the day depends on the frequency of the buses thus they have better chance of catching the buses as all of them leave the city from these junctions...
Outside a repair shop, early mornign taking kids for a freh air perhaps, this youth is seen engrossed sending and receiving SMS messages. The mobile mania has taken a huge leap in couple years and everyone semms to feel 'connected' round the clock....
The spread of city, traffic situations and libery of quick commuting have increased two wheeler count in the city like any other indian city. They also have eaten up lanes on the roads for parking needs, here is a quick snap from a small road with large population of bikers.... 
Growing city and neighborhood enables many local youths to get into something that helps them earn their livelihood and provide some service to the needy. The small STD/ISD booth, a photocopier machine and referrals/agency for real estate are their tools making it easier to survive at their own pace in this competitive age...
Within city limits there are still many areas where people share common water taps installed by municipal corporation to fetch daily water for the families, the water points are often found busy at times in the morning's for couple of hours as supply starts... 
Every crowded street perhaps has one of these carts of a local 'cool and cold' kinds... though the 'content' is of avarage quality and quantity, remains favorite of many of those who can't afford branded ones as it continues to chill the mind with it's ice cold feel....
Yet another visit to 'Daily Bread' @ Indira nagar, a heaven for those who like to indulge their tastebuds and mind with great display and varieties of desserts, ice crams and more... the thing that catches my eyes is the creativity and expression via food...certainly an 'artistic' element there!!
The gulmohur blossoms and the monsoon clouds, perhaps the change of gourds in indication! The souring heat blooms gulmohur with deep red shades while the grey tome of the sky deepens with dense cloud formations… if you take a flight over the city this catching red spread is worth watching!!
Street selling is not new to the city, the market lanes are flooded with small street shops that cater to various customer needs. 
Mango's continue to hit the streets with varieties from various regions, the ever increasing demand for this wonderful fruit mesmerizes many... a cart full of 'Badami' mango's are being sold on street of a local market..
Weekends witness heavy crowds at malls, especially at food courts which have various varieties and options to tinkle the taste buds. These food courts offer an easy way out for singles or mostly DINKS ( double income no kids couples) to spend entire day at the mall, watch a movie, shop awhile and eat the best of the lot to offer before heading home…City provides ample parks and gardens for children in planned layouts, this one in Domlur area even housed some slides and play tools for the kids a must for every kid in the city, the happening place for them indeed!!
An innovative way of molding dustbins child friendly, a dustbin placed in one of the city museum helps children learn managing waste properly and helps retain the ‘fun’ part of it too!!perhaps every one in the city ( or even every Indian) once have had used these in ceremonies or occasions when meals are served on large scale, these disposable leaf plates called ‘patrawalies’ are a sure option to save on time, effort on cleaning and first and foremost waste management.
There are many cottage industries flourish on these products as many families make living by way of collecting the leaves from forest and stitching them together to prepare the plates. There are few who use hot hand presses to shape the plates in diff sizes and shapes… a thing which is 100% biodegradable and environment friendly…
Growing city always burdens public transport systems, Bangalore is no exception, taking public transport to work is always prefereed but remaisn challenging... people tend to learn how to 'adjust' and carry themselves compromizing safety....
Perhaps it is true that 'every dog has his day'.... today may be the day for this one, seen relaxing on a road divider amidst busy traffic. The stray dog population keeps growing and sometimes one can get puzzled with so many negative news items around them that the city could perhaps be tagged as an asylum to stray dogs…
While on a small drive, dust crawls up against the setting sun. Perhaps a good snap telling us astory of life moving on... buildings under extention, roads being done, people already part of the 'picture' trying to cope up with the reality. All in all, city keeps growing at large!! 
Nasa, the pub on the church street, not that I am a frequent pub hopper but tend to visit this one for it's galactic ambience at times... though the city has as many pubs if one can count and remember makes it a place to be in for every traveller to the city!!
Perhaps this adds one more reason for my liking towards Bangalore, the city gets rains in the midst of summer…while rest of the country fights it out with mercury chasing all time highs. This indeed is a solace….
