Patrawalies, the Indian Leaf Plates…

perhaps every one in the city ( or even every Indian) once have had used these in ceremonies or occasions when meals are served on large scale, these disposable leaf plates called ‘patrawalies’ are a sure option to save on time, effort on cleaning and first and foremost waste management.

There are many cottage industries flourish on these products as many families make living by way of collecting the leaves from forest and stitching them together to prepare the plates. There are few who use hot hand presses to shape the plates in diff sizes and shapes… a thing which is 100% biodegradable and environment friendly…

THAT'S what those are called! I love those and am always so pleased when I am served with these rather than a paper plate...
