Toy Army....


while standing outside cauvery arts & crafts showroom @ Mg.Road, my attention was caught by this toy army, the display of various channapatna lacquerware toys... the wooden crafts with natural dyes is worth a buy....

Those are so cool! If you enlarge the photo, it's easy to see the different "personalities" of the pieces.
You just can't get robots and ultra-high tech machines to do that. It needs the individual human touch.

I didn't check the link from Cauvery when I first read the post.
They also have agarbattis and dhoops! One of my major addictions.
If you're keeping score, the bathi I've got going at the moment is Shroff Nargis, 1931 from No. 474 Avenue Road. One of the nicest smelling things on earth!

Very Nice. I have 2 of the little turtles. Their heads shake when you blow air around them. Very very cute. We actually drive through Channapatna and rarely do we get a chance to see them in action like this.
