Bangalore Daily Photo (BDP) is a voyage since March 2006 to witness what’s a common mans sight of this beautiful city everyday!
A sneak peak onto “The living in Bangalore… “
Leaf plates, kept for sale in the local market. They are environment friendly, 100% biodegradable, compostable, light weight and easy to store. Also called Patrawallies, these leaf Plates made with leaves from forest. Adding as a source of income for many rurals. Many believe that they do also offer natural feeling while eating in these plates..
Cool picture. Brings back my memories of the temples, where the Prasadam was served on these leaf plates and the tradition still remains in many temples.
A few years back, even occasions like marriages, where food is served, used to be on the leaf plates, which is no more the case.
IV2.. > Generally these are used when there are lot of guests / invitees and this leaf plates makes it convinient to dispose them off rather having a lot of work cleaning the dishes and maintaining them in that largew numbers...

Practical and so beautiful too!
I've written about the Indian artist, Raza, who lives in my village on Menton Daily Photo today.
