City weather is always perfect to enjoy hot fried bhajjis and aalo bondas, roadside vendors see lot of demand for this quick favorite snack. The varieties include, potatos, raw banana, mirchi( green chilli) and capsicum to name few, these mouth watering delights seen sold at a roadside shop and people enjoying them hot and crispy!!
It’s a constant war between the city corporation and the poster marketing syndicate. Targeting any compound, buildings and even shop shutters for poster displays posters are pasted. The corporations, building owners make a regular attempt to keep them off and clean the area and the very next time posters are back, like a never ending story!!
As the city expands old markets still keep getting both for wholesale and retail buyers, the selling starts typically early morning, the first half sees more action and the noon and evenings are dull and see lesser turnovers. The lanes around the main markets also contribute to the action …
The holy month of shravana as per the Hindu calendar has begun, the month full of pooja and religious rituals as it is believed that gods visit earth in this holy month, thus there is a large demand for flowers for offerings, this flower vendor is all set to fulfill the demands from devotees…
Weekends make everyone visit the markets together with the families doing lot of window shopping, the time is best for the street vendors who stand close to the crowd and display their goods inviting bargains, this one is standing in a hot sun and trying his luck…hope he gets to sell his merchandize well!
Walking around lalbagh, it was hot and sunny. an unusual day after many typical monsoon days. As usual visitors a plenty over weekend as everyone was enjoying their time with friends and families in this lung space of the city!!
Early morning 1n a Malleshwaram, the quite surroundings will soon get transformed into busy world! At times we drive down to this part of the city just to enjoy the ambience, have great breakfast and do some shopping, this area is where you get anything from traditional pooja items till modern brands and variety of vegetable now easily available in other parts of the city…

Being a regular at Indijoe last evening we were delighted to see range of Sizzlers introduced by them while ‘Sizzlers festival’. The food was delightful and tasty so was the ambience and service. Delay in the monsoon this season has forced many parts of the city with power cuts ( reservoir are not upto the mark for hydro power generation) and thus cut in drinking water supply as dried borewells are not ‘charged’ and the municipal water distribution is rationed… only hope that the prayers for rain will be heard!!
