Welcoming Ganesha...

Ganesh chaturthi is just few days away, local artisans have kept clay idols ready for sale, these would already be made to order from various Pandals. The colorful festivity will bring in lot of excitement and happiness with host of cultural activities in the city...

I really have to find myself good books about Indian culture and history — I find it all so fascinating. I've only seen Ganesha in carved or sculpted relief and illustrations — I never realized that the statues of him would be so colorful!

I've been twice in India, but I haven't visited Bangalore, maybe that's why I never saw such colourful Ganesh images...
