Kulcha Invite...

Kulcha is a typical North Indian recipe, like any other ethnic food available in its true style in the state of Punjab, India. The So popular Kulcha made it's way on the menus of many restaurants in Bangalore too, here is a snap from a local restaurant serving it in a cane basket...

Flour dough, mashed potatoes, onion (optional) and lots of spices are rolled into a flat round bread and baked in an earthen clay oven. After it is golden brown it is rubbed with butter and then eaten with spicy gravies. It is generally served with mint sauce, raw onion and curd. Kulcha can be stuffed with cottage cheese, mashed potato, mixed vegetables, etc.

World of Wicks...

Local markets offer variety of cotton wicks, the most preferred wicks for oil and ghee ( butter) lamps. A wick is placed over the nozzle and extends into the fuel chamber.
Most lamps come with one nozzle; a few lamps have more, from two to twenty nozzles. However, the more nozzles, the greater the fuel consumption. The thickness of the wick is an important factor too; thin wicks burn fuel more slowly than thick ones. However, the thickness of the wick does not affect the size of the flame much.

Copra, the dry coconut..

Sold and consumed in most of the markets in the city, Copra is the dried meat, or kernel, of the coconut. The Coconut oil is traditionally extracted by grating or grinding copra, then boiling it in water. The process of coconut oil extraction is done by crushing copra to produce coconut oil; the by-product is known as cake. Apart from the coconut oil Copra is extensively used in south Indian cooking as an important ingredient.

Flower Delivery...

Fresh flowers being delivered from the farm to the City Market, the gunny bags are kept wet and loosly stacked to preserve the flowers fresh... the local traders buy the crops from the farmers and provide them to the local wholesale merhcants who interun complete the B2B cycles with retails shops and establishements.Flowers arrive at the City Market as early as 4 a.m. and are sold until 9 p.m. Thousands depend on them for their livelihood.
