Selling News...

Fully decked !! latest magazins, newspapers in multiple languages!

A typical local shop displaying the latest on happening's, due to higer literecy levels the city readers are vivid and choosy, with multiple language masteries open up many options, isn't it?

Such scenes as this once were widespread in our cities but now they are all gone. I have no idea why.

I like your photo because it reminded me of those days.

I didn't do much today but...

I did write about how people used to wear long underwear over winter or until we began to stink. You can find the link at the bottom of the post today.

oh yes - If I was as fluent as any of the other local languages , I would call myself superwealthy. Though I read the local languages skimpily, I know I am missing a wealth of knowledge and all these are lost in translation.

Jai took the words out of my mouth, there. My Dev Nagari is barely existant. I can read OM and Agarbathi
(If it's written clearly and not too stylised) but that's about it. :(
I still haven't found a resource for learning how to read Kannada.

yes. I am glad that being born here I am able to converse in more than three languages, and putting some efforts on 'Kannada' ( able to read and write, but learning to speak) to add one more.

My friend is passing through India north to Katmandu and Lhassa Tibet!!!! I want to do it too, but go south as well and East. Calcutta in monsoon is lifetime dream
