Inspired by the Windsor castle, this palace was built in the Tudor style, complete with Gothic windows, foiled windows, battlements and turrets.

It stands amid undulating lawns, partly converted into a formal garden with axial paths. Spreads over 13,700sq m (147,466 sqft) the palace fell into disrepair after 1949 when it was at the centre of an ownership dispute between the government and the ruling wodeyars. It has since been restored to the wodeyars and is now rented out as a popular venue for functions such as weddings and music concerts and film shoots.

In the heart of the city is a unique edifice 110 year old monument is a popular tourist attraction. Surrounded by a garden all around, almost giving it a fairytale setting...

Beautiful building, I would have thought it was older than that. I love the round tower.

They could have converted this into nice world class museum to attract tourists instead of giving rent for public funtions and marriages! Nice photos and info..
