Lalbagh lions, some artifacts hidden midst of the normal public areas, while shooting around sometime back my lense made me take a note of them, if you have been to lalbagh where do you find these? give it a try!!

Great cormorant takes a dip in the lalbagh lake. These are common aquetic bird found around lakes in the city and watchign them early mornign is quite a relaxation...

He is alert and perhaps waiting for some quick pick as he rests on a handlebar of a motorcycle near the market, this crow is adapted to th urban life so much and has become integral part of our lives....

Fruit Selling...

Markets are expanding and spiling over streets, the convinience to buy essentials is making people buy from market lanes and create any opportunities for few who setup a quick cart with fresh fruits with limited stocks aiming quick turnover....

Disposable...

With lot of demand and pressure on disposable plastic the trade seem to be on a tight rope, the shops sellign the disposable utilities have reduced in numbers but the demand otherwise....

Baker on street....

Correction - One of our readers suggested correction on this post and it appers this one is a Baker selling bakery items such as pasteries and biscuits and not loose oil to the small businesses, Thanks Ravi for the suggestion....

Mythology..

With large number of temples in the city and the colourful kalasha (top) with different charactors from mythology is definitely and attraction. There are specialists painters who bring them to life with their colourful strokes....

In car advertising, while you take the drops between the destinations headrest of the front rows display the events happening around, some like this one seem not refreshed with current ones....

Roadsigns...

First thing a visitor notices in the city is these roadsigns, to help resolve the grid lock of mains and crosses, over years they do wear some local impressions as well!

Photocopy, small stationary and likes of allied business is what this small roadside shop does, the customers are varied and their postures speak a lot about the curious wait, observation of the work gettign done etc....

Hot Dal Vadai prepared by a street side eatery, one of the famous quick snack seen around the city....

Mr. Beans..

Beans, the winter fresh seen in the local market, most of them are used in vegetables and soups i prefere them boiled in salt water! a great munch!

New Constructions always inspire me, this one from my friends house provides enough light in the day time to save on electricity "going green"and spread positive vibes via direct skylight, the unwinding stairs perhaps suggest progression.....

All sizes and tredns, a small shop adjoining a pavement opens up as a routine, the business is brisk yet challenging to keep pace with new trends and lower margins....

Celebrate with food...

Few celebrations are joyful with great food, the city has so many delightful food joints and fine dining options that help you celebrate with your friends and family, this one called fruit factory from one of the great places to eat, Cream Center.....

Sunset ...

This is again a daily reward for everyone in the city, few lucky can watch this colorful sunset midst of coconut trees, what a joyful end of the day!!

Shadow Succession....

All the year trees provide ample cover from the sun, and as the winter sets in few shed their leaves as if taking annual leave from their work to provide the shade, the buildings on the narrow road then share the responsibility with each side to provide the much needed shadow.....

The street-shots tell the story of life of any city, the market areas are quieter on weekdays and flooded over weekends for a roadside seller the lean periods provides relaxation even though he is still on job ....

As the winter sets in many roadside trees showcase the PODs signifyng changing season and evolve through the lifecycles, the roads below are full of dry leaves and such pods.....

Grapes are ready and the are seen sold on the streetcarts, city outskirts have many grape farms and fresh flow is never a problem, though many wineries are coming up in the state and these grapes are in demand from them too!
