This fruit stall outside Safina plaza is always decked up with variety of fruits from all over the world, though bit costly they house real good quality fruits all round the year!!

White's are out!

The summer white and light clothing is our the natural way of keeping cool, This attire is loose and lets air pass around even though it is a hot summer noon ride!!

Weekend Window Shopping..

Summers push people indoors, thats the opportunity for shopping, the various summer sales in the city tempt window shoppers to stroll around these and pickup something or other stuff...

The quick dip stick test on what city is reading, this cart selling the books in a busy market area can be a good snap shot for books in demand!!

Namma Metro!!

Just less than 10 days to start the Metro service the stations are struggling to get into shape. This is the Old Madras Road Station with the ROB shows good amount of progress but long way to be ready for passengers to start using it...

Safina Plaza...

For every Bangalorean this place is known for the various "Sales" and Exhibitions that promote all of the indian arts, textiles and brands seasonally. This old shopping arcade is a transition between modern malls and Market areas and has a beautiful lush gree lawn in the center of the building...

Roadside Snacks..

This roadside corner cart sells tangy bhelpuri, just near the auto stand this place is well located for quick snack for travellers or for friends to catchup and have somethign to munch on..

Melons are here!

Be it a musk melon or watermelon, we love them both specially when it is summertime!! these natural coolers are sold in almost all markets in the city and there are quite a lot takers to beat the heat!!

Say No to Plastic...

Many departmental stores such as this are making people aware on the hazards from plastic bags that end up in the dumping zones ot litter around! this poster awareness is seen help build up when buyers end up carrying their own cotton or jute bags to these stores and do their bit to save the enviornment!!

On the Charts..

The Music albums and the Movie songs share a common display outside the music shops, the current chartbusters include couple action as well as romance movies, the music though make everyone swing by...

Spirit of Holi...

The city is witnessing many such colorful riders, the festival of color brings friends and families together ... these riders too must have had a good time and heading back home to clean themselves and enjoy the world cup cricket telecast in the noon!!

Holi, festival of colors...

The shops are ready with the 'pichkaris' but i don't see much crowd on the road, the festival of colors other than few residential complexes enjoying that in a closed environment!

Go Pink!

Greens are going pink...the rain trees in the city are on full bloom! The festive times for the garden city continues....soon the gulmohur trees will take their turn to add more red to this landscape!!

Shorts, Singlets, Skirts are the summer-ware for the city! the showroom displays are quick to respond to this seasonal change ....

Tabebuia Galore,,,

March is the Month, the city is witnessing Tabebuia blossom all over again, the trees are full of flowers and is a feast for our eyes and sweetness for honeybees who flock to these trees through out the day!

She is waiting for her school bus to pick her for the school, the exam times are approaching and every student is looking up for brighter performance to prepare for brighter future, up like the billboard!!

Cricket fever...

World Cup Cricket fever is on, even the restaurants are making most of it, this one was so creative that it printed the menu on a small cricket bat!!

The summer splash is here, the colorful display of the natures best events are sunrise and sunsets, this sunset is not an exception....

Creative way of selling the sun glasses, this vendor wears all the goods he intends to sell, the summer is catching up and sun glasses are the first ones to be picked up!!

Sun shed..

Days are hot and selling on the roadside is tough unless you have a sun protection, this flower seller have duly provided for a large umbrella, flowers though need a splash of water to keep them wet ...

Baby Corns...

There are followers for baby corns, they are so tender and sweet many prefer to eat them just off the cart, this vendor in the by lanes of a market area sells full cart load of corns in just one day!!

Rain tree flowering...

The rain tree flowering is an event I always used to look forward to, while the old airport was amidst the city and most of the city roads have had these rain trees, it was a spectacular sight to look at the canopies if these trees from above while airplane descents for landing, the entire city used to look pink as if nature has pulled a pink shawl around the shoulders of the city!

Shopping around..

Banjara Women are known to wear colorful and beautiful costumes like phetiya (as ghagra) and kanchalli (as top) and have tattoos on their hands. The dress is considered fancy and attractive as they use mirror chips and often coins to decorate it. Women put on thick bangles on their arms (patli). Their ornaments are made up of silver rings, coins, chain and hair pleats are tied together at the end by chotla. here is one walking around a small market lane...

The Banjara have spread around most of the states of India and have presence in Karnataka too,About half their number speak Lambadi, one of the Rajasthani dialects..

Begonia flowering...

The flowering of Begonia is special, These plants are monoecious, with unisexual male and female flowers occurring separately on the same plant. a beautiful treat for eyes...

Beat the heat...

Summer heat is catching up, days are getting hotter and hotter, the mercury playing above 30 deg C all through the week calls for coolers like coconut water, fresh fruit juices...the street vendors are making the shift gradually...

Work from Home...

Small business from home, this roadside house gets creative and convert s portion of their house into a small tailoring shop. the local needs are thus supported and adds up to the family earning!!

Pricepoints

The rising prices of grains and pulses seems to have settled ( or consumers got used to it!) the varieties remain changing yet the spread is uniform!

Sunbathing...

The seasonal change is funny, nowadays mornings are cool and days are hot, there are many who like to sit in the morning sun and warm up a bit....

School time..

School time is when you see kids in their tidy avatar, there is someone from the family deputed to drop the kid from home to the nearby school bus pick up point and collect the kids while returning...

Shooting Baloons!!

Kids love air-guns, this stall nearby an exhibition reminded me of my school days and the craze about shooting the balloons, was happy to see this after ages that the craze continues and keeps kids excited!!
