Roadside sales are the only option for these cane artisans. Using a bicycle to load the items and carry them to the nearest market place. After a good bargain, they might be able to sell entire lot over just one weekend due to great demand for bamboo items and affordable pricing to consumers….
Leif > it can cost anything between INR 200 to 500, depends on your bargaining skill and the time of the day (later the better), next time you are around try sucha simple bargain to get the feel ...and yes they are durable, i have been using such a lamp (the long ones hangin to the left for 4 yrs now...
