A mortar and pestle are two tools used in conjunction with each other to grind and mix substances. The mortar is a bowl-like vessel used to contain a substance. Mortars have rounded bottoms and wide mouths. The pestle is a stick / stones used for pounding and grinding. They come in various shapes and sizes, one shown here is the large one used in kitchen.. more on

That is a beautiful mortar and pestle... can you tell me where I can find it... I am searching from a long time in Bangalore to buy something like that!

We took that from roadside of Bannaswadi, for a sure shot thing roam around pottery town or shivaji nagar market and you might be lucky to find one...although not seen in shops but along side of granite shops around dairy circle as well...give it a try!
