This is one of the favorite munch, guavas sold by street vendors. Once you have a good bargain they cut them and put masala salt ( generally salt and red chili powder) and it tastes yumm…

Pre-paid autos..

Weekday sunny afternoon finds long queue of autos in the prepaid auto line, major commercial areas have such nice facility provided by city RTO cops which helps commuters pay the fare in advance for specific distance/destination to make travel safe and peaceful….

Forest fire blooming…

Turning around seasons signs are now evident. Forest fire trees in the city have started blooming. Early morning while I catch my office transport I get this nice red carpet welcome….

Sourcing Veggies…

A tempo full of veggies. Such scenes are common in the mornings as large caterers who cater the lunch / dinner at large IT establishments need such daily supply. The number of IT professionals working in Bangalore raise demand for daily breakfast/lunch in large quantities ( multiple of thousands). The challenge remains to source raw material, cook the food early and serve it at the destinations hot and tasty….almost twice a day!!

Pooja season...

Holy month of Shravan gets me lot of invites from neighbors and friends for Satyanarayana puja and prasad. This ritual is generally performed before/on any major occasion like marriage, house warming ceremony etc. It can also be performed on any day for any reason. The Satyanarayana puja is unique in a way that it does not require a Brahmin / priest to perform.

Around the corner..

At a hangout point with cuppa coffee, gossips, smoking... living it out with nice weather with moderate rains and clear skies, perhaps good time to hangaround outdoors...

Last few sales...

Janmastami is over and the little boy is still trying to make some last sales on Krishna idols, two great festivals Krishna Janmastami and Ganesh Chaturthi would give enough opportunities to local artisans to make and sale colorful idols of lord Krishna and Ganesha...

Welcoming Ganesha...

Ganesh chaturthi is just few days away, local artisans have kept clay idols ready for sale, these would already be made to order from various Pandals. The colorful festivity will bring in lot of excitement and happiness with host of cultural activities in the city...

festive shopping...

Festive times bring excitement to shoppers, the local shops charge up displays with goodies that are essential for festivities. The vivid shoppers get one more reason to be window-shopping for welcoming Ganesha....

Rains,friends and gossips...

Rains continue to lash the city, though they are much disciplined for almost a week like timing only evenings for about an hour or two. This snap reminds me of friend, sharing one umbrella and walking down catching up on all gossips... Those golden moments!!

Babysitting...

She is responsible for those kids, some of her own and some of her neighbors all day long. Both the parents go off work some on daily wages, some as house maids and the babysitting is done by ladies who can afford to be at home doing this noble work… The kids grow up with each other and tend to learn lessons of life on their own and with so much happenings around in the neighborhood … day passes so quickly, as life moves on!

Fixing the roof...

I took a moment to realize how challenging is this activity. This man was fixing the supports for a roof of underconstruction house, he was balancing in the same support that is being worked upon. After a while he completed the work with ease and expertize and looked at me smiling as if this is nothing exceptional...

Manning the roads...

Early morning before even the trafic picks up the pace this trafic cop is already stationed in his booth on duty, the trafic situations in the city continues to be a challenge both for policemen to control and commuters ...

Back Home...

After a week long outstation trip, it is good to catch up with surrounding. While passing by the Vidhan Soudha felt good to reload the mind with being 'here' homing sense....

BDP Vacation...

Wanted to share this picture I took in a health resort two days back while attending a training program. The calm ambience with birds enjoying the water made my day!!

Daily wage...

Contract workers are seen waiting outside a manufacturing unit, they come early morning and wait outside the main gate of such units and try get onto the daily wage roll, there are several temporary manpower needs that are fulfilled by such contractual arrangements, some work for a single day other last few weeks, even months…

Strays…

City houses many aspirants and migrants, these ones perhaps are born here besides roads and continue to live along the humane mindsets that feed them directly and most of the times indirectly, they belong here and owned by the neighborhood…

Preparation times...

Behind the scenes! The ‘Ratha’ (Temple Chariot) of some temple / religious procession is being decorated with flowers. Such decorations are quite symbolic and common here which use lots of flowers, colored cloths and lighting’s etc. They start the work early in a day and can take several hours to complete…

Roadside Bajji...

Late evening and this street vendor is into making hot 'bajji's' favorite snack for many. I managed my temptation and let go the same fearing monsoon times that can make me sick, but am sure to return to enjoy some wadas and mirchi bajji’s some time later with higher confidence and tempt levels...

Happy Friendship Day!!

Street shops are all decked up with friendship bands, and school kids throng along to buy those. Being a weekend they will wait to celebrate the day till early next week catching up with all as schools reopen…

Keeping it Clean..

Major outbreaks of diseases happen in and round Monsoon, the garbage collectors make sure that their contribution and consistency helps keep the city clean and healthy. Perhaps early weekend morning is the time catching up with each other before the truck starts taking collection rounds till late afternoon before proceeding to dump yards on city outskirts …

Game of Life...

Few construction worker families seem to have just reached the 'site' on city outskirts. Before the families unwind and setup, kids embrace the new home that they world live quite some time in future and start paying around enjoying the open field… after all, Life is a Game!
