Sampige...
Native to the city, Sampige or Champak trees are tall, have dense foliage, and bear highly aromatic yellow or orange flowers. They flower mainly from March to June. This tree or shrub which grows from 3 to 6 meters high and wide having fragrant orange, yellow, or creamy white flowers in the spring and produce an essential oil that is used in perfumes. Visitors and newcomers find this amazing unlike other major cities, Bangalore has a grid concept of Mains and Crosses, one has to really understand them to successfully navigate within residential layouts. This fifth edition of Bengalooru Habba, which started on Nov 30th will be 10 day long celebration in the city…we catch up events at Chitrakala Parishat over the weekend and enjoyed the artifacts of 200-odd artisans from 21 Indian states and watched live performances.....
