Call of Duty....
City traffic situation remains challenging; the civic sense too is missing on the roads when it comes to chasing schedules. The cops continue to play their part standing out in dust and sun to try making it better for commuters... They seem to have long way to go!!

Happy Children’s Day!!
Perhaps this artifact from Bal Bhavan in Cubbon park beautifully represents the attention and the care required by our children. While 20th November is universally celebrated as Children’s Day, in India this day has been pre-poned to 14th November, the date the marks the birth anniversary of independent India’s first Prime Minister – Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The kids lovingly called him ‘Chacha Nehru’…Tuesday, November 13, 2007

Deepawali – Laxmipujan
The most auspicious day among the festive days of Deepawali perhaps is the Laxmipujan, when Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and Ganesha, the God of auspicious beginnings are worshipped across all Hindu homes, followed by lighting of diyas / lamps all across the streets and homes, distributing sweets as prasad to welcome prosperity and well-being in. Lakshmi Pooja, thus marks the most important day of Deepawali celebrations.Posted by Unknown 3 comments

Deepawali Celebrations - Crackers
Almost each and every house hold in my vicinity was busting crackers on the eve of Narak Chaturdashi, the second day of Deepawali. In south India, this is the actual day of festivities. Hindus wake up way before dawn as early as 2:00 in the morning, have a fragrant oil bath and wear new clothes. They light small lamps all around the house and draw elaborate kolams /rangolis outside their homes.
